can anyone recommend an incar holder for the iphone/ipod touch.
i dont want a universal cradle rather a docking hard wired type holder that will play music through the command via the 3.5mm jack.

Mercedes sell one to go with their ipod kits. It's about £10 and fits nicely into the glovebox, it's covered with the same black felt material so looks good. just stick it in with some sticky pads or double sided tape.

yes but its only a holder i need one with the docking connector so i can hard wire in

Mercedes have released a special iphone cradle for use with UHI cars. I havn't seen one yet but from what I gather, it holds the iphone and charges it. Now whether it still uses/requires bluetooth or not I'm not sure yet.

The factory ipod interface for music playback combined with an HFP cradle is what I have in my car. It charges the iphone, allows music playback and connects to the HFP via bluetooth.

And there's me finally ordering an HFP cradle just a few hours ago. knew I should have waited....
