If you are thinking of 'unlocking' your phone or using these jailbreak applications to gain access to the installer and additional applications then thick hard first.

I tried this today on my iphone as I thought it would be nice to have some games on the device.

I wont be doing it again. :o

I have just spent a considerable amount of time returning the iphone to factory settings and restoring all my personal settings. The unlocking S/W all appears to run and does indeed give you access to numerous applications. However, my phone refused to download more than about four of these applications then it refused to run some of those, then it refused to synchronise with my email. Then I noticed that I had a weaker signal than before! So after many attempts to get it to function properly I gave up and put it back as it was. It now works fine, exactly as it was intended to.:)

I will wait for Apple or their appointed/authorised resellers to release some games.

I've successfully jailbroken and unlocked several iPhones, ipod touches, and the other day I modified my Apple TV Take 2 so it can play DivX/XViD movies, stream direct from my network attached storage and surf the web.

Definitely "proceed with caution", as its easy to get stuck, and a knowledge of UNIX commands helps if you do!

Yup, jailbreaking is easssssy, can't see the problem with it, and its very easy to downgrade the firmware / restore things if needed :)

Yep, I agree it was very easy to do. However, it rendered my phone near useless!

I was considering purchasing an Iphone 16Gb and was in the apple store and off the record was told that the latest phones are harder to unlock and more likely to render the unit dead.

I dont know if this is true or just the party line they are using.

can't beat a bit of iPhone 'bricking' to give you that sinking feeling.. I've done loads of ipod touches.. less 'brickable' but the phones not an issue either, safe to say only do if you 100% certain you know what your doing and how to undo what you done!

AppleTV2 next.. but I've not had any 'nerd time' for ages..
