IPOD connection CLA45

Just purchased a 2014 CLA45 and have an issue with the USB port when I plug in my iPod it says USB not readable , tried to connect iPod to a c-class 2015 and it works, garage is looking into it but just wondered if my car model/age isn't compatible with apple iPods can anyone advise, thanks !

Not sure if this will work for you but it did for me on a previous car. Try setting the iPod to"enable disk use" you can do it in iTunes.

Which stereo do you have (Audio-20 or COMAND). Being 2014 you have NTG4.5 rather than the newer NTG5*1

If it has a SD slot, it is COMAND, otherwise it is an Audio-20

If it is an Audio-20, it doesn't understand iPod on USB port, just USB memory devices, so you need to make your iPod appear as a memory device (see above) but you'll just get a load of files to play
