As Edna is in for her 2nd MOT. I've been given the new C class. It's the Elegance but it's got all the toys. Full leather, COMAND, parktronic etc etc etc. Sadly it's bucketing it down with rain so I can't go and have a proper look and play with it all. If it stops I will try and take some pics etc for you.

Also fingers' crossed Edna passes - she should do.

Also check out the wiring job thread for an interesting tale!

Edna is back home having passed her test   They commented that the brake pads were getting close - so when I picked her up it had all been done and dusted as it's all covered by Service Plus. So not a penny has had to leave Pammy - phew!!

Excellent Service all round.

As for the C class - it really did have all the toys - including the iPod wire - so had a play with that, very impressive. Loved being able to play with the track selection via the steering wheel. Driving was quite nice. Reasonable amount of oomph for a saloon. All in all quite nice. If I was buying one though I think I'd go for the diesel.

I have got some pics from this morning but they're on DDs camera so I need to get them off.

eta - pics - click pic to view slideshow ;)

From the outside its alright. But that slab of a dash and that steering wheel are IMHO grim. Thanks for posting the photos.Glad your car is OK:)

Sorry Pammy I think its horrilble, the new S is not pretty but this is worse, do you think Bangle moved to MB from BMW. My 350 goes in on Tues for an E service (its second service in 4764 miles and 1st MOT).

:p :p I know - terrible wuzn't :p but it wasn't really parked - that was straight out of my drive just to take the quick pics - then it was straight forward back on my drive.:o

I don't think it's horribe. Not having looked at the Mondeo etc I don't know how it compares. Comparing to a new Focus though and I know where I would go - no questions!

So how do you rate the interior quality? eveyone seems to think its poor.

Looks great IMO

I don't think it is as good as the 203 to be honest. But how it compares to its peers I just don't know. For example, I don't know what the non-leather would be like. The leather wasn't soft but then it was new - only a few hundred miles on the clock so it needs time to soften etc.

I think all new cars have such massive expanses of plastic over the dash tbh - but the COMAND unit did break that up a bit. What I did think tacky and cheap were the wipers. I also didn't understand why with electric height adjustment and back rest adjustment and heated seats - the forward back adjustment was manual:crazy:

I find the dash and radio/dial set up much better looking in the 204 than in any other new model (non MB) I've been in of late. Whether it's worth £30k is down to the individual.

Yeah, but a Focus is a fraction of the cost of a C!

I saw some at Brooklands during the centenary do, and I have to admit it wasn't the massive step forward over the W203 that I think it needs to be. Hell, I think I prefered the 'old' Sports Coupe alongside it!

Don't like it...not one bit. Seen a few in London, IMHO they're not as good looking inside or out as the 203.

On a better note, glad to hear Edna passed...! :)
