Hi looking to get a jacking pad for use with my trolley jack to lift a w205. How do you adapt a flat-bottomed pad to fit the cup on the jack ?Also am I best using poly pads or aluminium ?
Any advice appreciated.

Yeah, have seen that advert but still need to know how the pad fits securely into the cup on the jack. Do you need some form of adaptor ? Even the stealerships can’t give me a straight answer.

Mine just sits on top of the jack pad. The only issue I find with the rubber hockey puck derived pads is that they do seem to deform quite a bit when under load. I’ve tried two types. If buying again I think I’d try to go for aluminium or a harder plastic. The puck ones are ok but I’d prefer less squirming!

Hmm, That sounds concerning. Suppose considering the weight maybe ally is the way to go but still struggling to understand how a flat puck sits in a cup. If my my jack had a flat pad I would understand. Don’t want to contemplate it slipping under load.

Yes my jack has a flat head so it sits on there fine. Plus the S212 is quite a lump so I guess the hockey based adapter might not squirm so much when jacking a w205? I think I have seen adapters on eBay to cater for various jacking pad types (so converting the cup to a flat pad)

Yep, short of buying a new jack with a flat lifting pad, there must be some form of adaptor but boy am I finding the info hard to find. Surely must be a common issue so hopefully someone has the answer. But thankyou for your help.

Hi Op and welcome . Buy the correct jackpad similar to the one in post #2 but make sure the protruding part of the pad is long enough to bottom out in the slot in the sill before the pad plate hits the sill of your car . There are many for sale that look the same but will not fit your car.
As for worrying if it will slip...don't , once the weight of the car has compressed it , it's going nowhere.

Thankyou . Good info. I’ve emailed the vendor so awaiting response.

I've bought quite a few of these over the years. Including hockey puck types.

I've found the Powerflex jack pads that go into the underside of the car the best ones. Very secure and fit well, provided they make one for your car. Check out the Powerflex website for the list and fitment, but I bought from eBay in the end.

For the jack cup adapter, I found several sellers on eBay. I've got a Halford trolley jack with a metal cup. and Halfords axle stands with curved tops, and I've been able to find suitable adapters to create a flat base for the Powerflex adapters.

Edit: looking at the Powerflex site, they don't list a w205 pad. Sorry

I have bought one from that advert i have a w205 amg line if you tell him that, he sends you one with a deeper block, i have the cup jack and it did bend a bit when i used it but as it had the deeper block it did not touch the car, i have now cut a thin bit of wood to go in the cup for it to sit on. The man is quite responsive tell him about the cup shape he may have some, if so please let us know.

Thankyou all for your response. MrGreedy thankyou for the extra info. This is what I was looking for so now I know, will hopefully get it sorted.
Greatly appreciated all.

I am looking for some jacking pads for my c43 amg A205. Can't seem to find the advert as shown in post #2. Does anyone know the ebay reference for this item/

The eBay seller does not now have any stock. I bought this one off Amazon and then cut 20mm of the top with a hacksaw . Works perfectly....59D60E69-D080-4913-B1B9-19A2E9939387.png

I need to buy a few more, Conn you said you had to cut 20mm off these ^^^ , was the oblong 'peg' bit 40mm tall !! My W203 needs 20mm 'peg' .

So in short yes, but the measure is my best estimate👀 so will measure and let you know shortly exactly how much remains on my oblong peg after cutting.

So have checked. I shortened the peg to 14mm. Which means they should work fine for you, just reduce it to the 20mm you need. hth
