I bought one of these from eBay, really helpful guy. Great service.Hi looking to get a jacking pad for use with my trolley jack to lift a w205. How do you adapt a flat-bottomed pad to fit the cup on the jack ?Also am I best using poly pads or aluminium ?
Any advice appreciated.
Yes my jack has a flat head so it sits on there fine. Plus the S212 is quite a lump so I guess the hockey based adapter might not squirm so much when jacking a w205? I think I have seen adapters on eBay to cater for various jacking pad types (so converting the cup to a flat pad)Hmm, That sounds concerning. Suppose considering the weight maybe ally is the way to go but still struggling to understand how a flat puck sits in a cup. If my my jack had a flat pad I would understand. Don’t want to contemplate it slipping under load.
Thankyou . Good info. I’ve emailed the vendor so awaiting response.Hi Op and welcome . Buy the correct jackpad similar to the one in post #2 but make sure the protruding part of the pad is long enough to bottom out in the slot in the sill before the pad plate hits the sill of your car . There are many for sale that look the same but will not fit your car.
As for worrying if it will slip...don't , once the weight of the car has compressed it , it's going nowhere.
So in short yes, but the measure is my best estimateI need to buy a few more, Conn you said you had to cut 20mm off these ^^^ , was the oblong 'peg' bit 40mm tall !! My W203 needs 20mm 'peg' .
