Hi my wifeS SLK350,, has had some gearbox issues with 2 speed sensors being changed after the car kept getting stuck in 5th gear,, The car is 7G auto 2006. When car warms up it is fine,,,could i check the TQF level ??

Was it like that before the sensors were changed?

My 7G+ changes harshly when cold, especially on very cold days.

ATF change, plus ESM and TCU software updates, improved matters a bit but did not fully solve the problem. It might be a 'characteristic' of the box.

Same here now that ambient temps are lower , goes away when coolant is up to 60°C.

All perfectly normal as I understand.

This is with gearbox in E .

So read it's smoother starting off in S , tried it this morning and yes 'S' greatly reduces the bumpy cold shift .

That is why it is recommended that you start the car and drive without high revs until the engine and whole drive train has had a chance to warm up properly.

It always amuses me see cars idling in the driveway, warming the engines, and then they drive off at speed with everything except the engine ice-cold and they think they are looking after their car.

My car's water temp gets to the right level after about 2 miles but I've noticed that the oil temperature takes a lot longer to get to the correct level.
