Good afternoon all.

I am away from home visiting a friend whose car has a discharged battery, no battery charger available and local motor factor some distance away.Hopefully a jump start from the C320 will get it going.

Would someone kindly remind me of the correct way to jump start another using the MB? (Manual is not in the car for some reason!)

From memory it is attach Negative lead from engine block on mine to engine block on car to be started, then positive lead from the terminal block on the MB (not the battery) to the positive terminal of the other battery, start MB ,wait a minute or so and then attempt to start other car?

Always connect the +ve lead first, to live car then dead car; it gives you less chance of dropping the free end on electrically hot surfaces.

Then connect the -ve lead.

I usually run the live car at idle.

Then start the dead car and remove wires in the reverse order.

That's how I do it. Anything wrong with that brainy boys?

Good luck.

Thanks fir the reminder!

All went well :)

I've always had the live car engine running prior to connecting the dead car to it, so the dead battery doesn't drag down the good one when the live car isn't charging it?
