Some already know, picked up this beauty yesterday. Pics aren't the best, bit to be honest, it isn't in its best shine yet anyway :)

Wednesday Topaz will be picking up this baby and will do some magic.

Magic will include some blackout here and there (not too much), satin PPF, detail inside and out and to top things up, enhanced ceramic coating that includes outside (paint and windows), inside and wheels.

Will obviously share some pics then also.

Anyway, here some pics.

Lovely 👍🏻

Which products will Topaz be using?

Mmm good question - you mean as in brand ?

1. PPF - not sure which brand - but it will be a satin custom Topaz kit
2. De-Chrome - will be painted, so no wrap etc.
3. Coating - EXO+C1 Crystal Serum, G4/G5 Max Repellency Glass Kit and C5 Wheel Armour

In terms of black out chrome parts - I decided only to have the rear eyebrow, window trims and door handles painted. I keep the lower part chrome to break things up a bit - like badges, splitter and diffuser. Given that the wheels are black with a bit chrome I think it will work well.

Oh and someone asked about price but can for the life of me not find the post again - around 11k all-in ...

Oh and in case someone notices I am parking over the line - to the right of the line is a stair case with no additional parking spot lol

Feck me did you say £11K why pay out that amount?.

Also included is of course detail inside and out and paint correction ... PPF is probably just over half that. I got a quote for PPF that was 1/4 of that of Topaz but they used pre-cut templates from a database .. when you look at those templates, they are like 1-2mm shorter than the panels .. that means dirt etc. collect around the edges, similar to a thick ish glass protector on a phone. And this is a custom cut by Topaz so it covers every mm ...

Plus we are talking about 10 working days here .. I'd research Topaz - worth every penny. If it wouldn't be a 100k car I'd just go around the corner to random joe lol ...

I had PPF fitted to my M6 Gran Coupe by a renowned (supposedly Company) Painshield, what a **** up, cut from as you templates left gaps a real shit job for good money, Made them do it again, that did not go down well.

Hence I rather pay a bit more and know it's going to be a good job. Topaz has contracts with various companies like Bugatti and Ferrari.

Hope you will be satisfied with the end product after paying 11K. Wow.... that is a lot of money for the work being done.

I have gotten four different quotes for similar work. (Oh yea the above also includes pickup and drop off in closed transport). Most don't even do all the work. For instance, most only offered wrapping the chrome parts, which doesn't even make sense. I always said I will be using the roof bars so wrapping roof bars or generally high usage parts like handlebars is asking for disaster long term. Then also don't forget, I kinda do a colour change as well (going metallic to satin).

Anyway, ingot quotes for satin PPF as cheap as 850 quid for an estate. I don't trust cheap prices like that. Another quote was 7k for just PPF but those guys would cut sheets to size on the car. Again, don't trust them.

The other guys used database pattern and as mentioned, they are 1-2mm too short so again, asking for trouble.

So the only place I found that seemed ok, but isn't as known in the industry, quoted me 7.5k+vat. The guys worked out of a workshop that did have supercars at the front, but the place alone was dirty, cutting PPF to size on car and suggested wrapping roof bars as he has no way of actually painting them.

Bear in mind in regards of painting. That's OEM colour.

Anyway, no need to defend my decision, but Topaz are the top players in that regard for a reason so yea. Happy to pay for the result.

I guess I see now why people hate to talk about the cost lol.

I have seen people here buying alloys for 5k a pop, no one seems to argue paying 20k for a set there :)

I always hate getting asked how much did I pay for this or that as it always end up with me trying to justify it to whomever asked the question.

You pay what you feel is right for you personally - as long as you're happy, that's all that counts. I'm sure it'll look stunning, and I can't wait to see the results.

FYI, I have PPF too, and I feel it's worth every penny. My friends and family don't get or understand it, but its my choice and I'm happy with it.

There are certain things that paying a bargain for, is false economy. Actually only recently Topaz put a video up of a GT3RS that was wrapped with said template. Looks horrid.

They have recently complete Schmee’s SLS black series as well, so top quality work.

Bottom line. You get what you pay for :)
