Put a deposit down on my first AMG, a 2015 SL63. Very excited! I'm lucky enough to have some really nice cars but nothing really suited to every day driving, long cruises etc. I've always liked these cars but never been in a position to get one. It wasn't my first choice of colour, but the spec is just what I wanted and had all the must haves on my list. And the colour works well with the black IMO, so it'll certainly fall into the "does he look back when its parked" category!

It's actually got full MB history, however I'm keen to find an indy relatively local to me (I trust them to do a better job!) Can anyone recommend one around the East Midlands? (I'm in Northants)

Also, can any advise on the best bang for buck to release some of that AMG soundtrack?! Catback, sports cats, decat, some sort of bypass? I don't want to throw loads into this car modifying it, however a little more audible theatre won't hurt :)

Couple of pictures from the ad (hoping to pick the car up next weekend:

Looks fantastic! Personally I’d try it as-is for a bit before jumping on the modifying exhaust bandwagon. They don’t sound bad stock to my ears.

Lovely car:thumb: Looks really nice in white too. Haven't seen any SL63's in that colour before.
Re the exhaust note. As mentioned, try it stock for a while. The M157 does sound good with the resonator removed though. No secondary cats on this engine so I wouldn't touch the primary cats unless you are looking to change the turbo downpipes.

Get in touch with Acid at MSL Performance in Birmingham. He did my remap and the resonator can be taken out in house by Imran.

Don't bother emailing, phone gets the quickest response.

Thanks all. Really looking forward to collecting it. I will keep it stock for a little bit but I do get a lot of enjoyment out of planning the upgrades :) Hence doing it before I've even got the car!

I've just been doing some research and noticed people removing the resonator. But then there seems to be a question on whether to fit a x-pipe of have them disconnected? For me, I'd like to retain the OEM tone, just increase the volume by 20% What is the best way to do that?

And seen some chat about tuning these, seeing some quite big numbers!?

Mine was straight piped where the resonator was cut out. Sounds evil on a cold start and the downshifts from speed are huge fun.
A simple remap at MSL can give up to 680bhp and 800ftlbs. Very cheap power upgrade.

I’m not the biggest fan of white, but when it is clean and on a sunny day, it will look stunning.
Lovely car. Enjoy it. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

That is a ridiculously good looking car, congrats!!

+1 for everything @AMGeed said! I also straight piped a res delete. I was sceptical about doing it at first, but I think it's perfect for the M157 and a relatively cheap and not-too-in-your-face mod. Also, 100% remap at MSL!

I take my E63 to TWG in Peterborough after a recommendation from a forum member. Maybe in range for you? They're a very well respected Porsche and MB specialist.

Looks just like my old one, the one thing I did was get the wheels gloss lacquered.
I couldn't understand why it had the black pack which makes the badges/spoiler etc gloss black and satin wheels.
It made a world of difference.

You can't tell so much on the picture, but in real life it's better....in my opinion.

Cracking cars though.

Keep it stock and run around in S+, makes a world of difference to the sound. Also I think MOT centres are starting to clamp down on exhaust volume levels now.

Looks great, nice specification. I can recommend Autoclass in Milton Keynes - they are a good indie who know AMGs.
