Just bought the CL55 AMG n/a........

Also, the number plate, CL51 AMG, that came with the car....I looked up the value the other day and it's £3k........so it was a stonking good deal ;-)))

Beautiful car!! :)

congratulations

hi there,

i looked at this one myself at 7star although went for a 65 instead as got a really good deal and the car is great. how is this one working out for you? i have seen other threads and all seams to be ok?

Hi Peter, was good meeting you on Saturday - all I can say bout the car is that it's a beauty, I have seen it in the metal...!!!

Interior is very classy and even if you did pay £15-16k it doesn't matter because it looks like a £30k car easily.

Enjoy and catch up soon.

Regards,

Harry

All working out fine. Some issues that need fixing and have had to take legal action against the dealer, as he refuses to cover the costs of the repairs.
My solicitor says he doesn't have a leg to stand on, will update when settled.

I remember when i went to see the car i had some reservations regarding the Dealer, one of the reasons i walked away.

I beleive you mentioned to him about the negative Post i wrote on the Forum (Which was not that negative). He then became a member and slated me off, as it turns out i was not far wrong. Beware of back street Dealers, Back Street being the operative word.

Hi Peter, I didn't mention anything about negative posts regarding him, he was asking me about Merc clubs when I first went to test drive the car and I just happened to mention mbclub to him. He then took it upon himself to join and I guess he caught up on various threads etc.

I apologise Peter. What issues are you having with him ? As i mentioned before i was not impressed with the whole set up.

Sorry i missed you at the Re-Map. How are you finding it, any improvement ?

Yes, the re-map meet was great, so good to catch up with peeps in person. We should arrange another event of some sort and all get together for a glass or two, there were a few of you guys I was hoping to meet up with that day.
The re-map has given me a smoother power delivery, little bit more torquey and revs better at the top end, so definately worth it for the discounted price we paid :thumb:

I had an MB health check done the week after I bought the car and found the lower arms about to collapse - MB noted them as 'Dangerous', the diff pinion seal needs replacing and the CD changer doesn't load properly.
I have now just come back from a 5 day trip without the car and the front off-side was sitting so low, almost on the top of the tyre.
I started it and raised the suspension, lowered it again and it has stayed up overnight - I raised this as an issue with the dealer the day I went to collect the car, I pointed out that the car was sitting a bit lower on that side, he called his MB specialist who said it was fine and that it was just because it hasn't been driven regularly. Oh really....:ban:
Well, I have driven it regularly for the last 4 weeks and this has now happened, I can only assume there is a bigger issue about to arise with the ABC and as we all know, that's not cheap to fix.
Anyway, back to the dealer issue. I tried to get the dealer to contribute the lions share of the repair bill for the lower arms, I only wanted £500 off him, as I had negotiated my local MB delaer down to £635, but he still quibbled with this and was only going to offer 50% of the cost. I then sent him emails regarding the diff seal and CD changer repair costs and he replied saying he didn't want to fall out with me and that he would call me to discuss, obviously I didn't hear from him.
I then sent him a final email advising him that I was going to initiate legal proceedings and gave him one last chance to act accordingly and pay for the repairs, he again replied and said he would call to discuss, again no call, so I issued the claim against him, this time for the full amounts owing.
I will now have to add the cost relating to the ABC repair, as I'm assuming that's on it's way out too - unless anyone has any other thoughts on this??

There are always 2 sides to an argument, and I felt I was fair with Peter, I made an offer but this was not acceptable to Peter, but I did make an offer and did NOT walk away from the issue. The car was sold with a warranty but the issues with this car are non-warranty as they are non-mechanical.

However I will not be unfairly threatened by court action and be dictated to by self-imposed deadlines, and this is what it felt like at the end, and so the matter has ended up with court action. If I had been completely un co-operative and unwilling to accept anything I could understand this action, but to be taken to court in these circumstances is in my opinion unfair and unnecessary and paints a misleading picture of the situation.

Please both of you let us know how you get on in court , and the outcome.
