Just had an accident

LOL It just gets better.Imagine getting a conviction for that! They were probably indignant??

Probably no MOT and a driver with no licence to boot !

Was it uphill coming out of there , didn't they roll back into you ?

Or , did the old duffer put his car into reverse by mistake ?

Actually , OAP's , if all you have is a mark that will polish out , kindest just to leave alone and hope that puts them off the road now .

Wouldn't be surprised if that's the case as it was also untaxed!

Hehehe, that's it!

I think if the other driver has admitted they were uninsured that it should be reported ASAP. Although, what are the chances that the car is actually registered to the driver? They wouldn't be that stupid would they???

Happy days mate !!

I saw plod chuck a family out of an untaxed / MOT's / insured crapbox here the other day ..... drove in the opposite direction just as plod 1 was pulling out in the volvo and plod 2 was pulling out in the Peugeot , i gave them a thumbs up as i went past , got a smile in return .... ;)

They'd be nuts to admit they were driving with no insurance / tax ...

Buy them a tin of spray paint , chuck it in a jiffy bag with a note ' To sort your car out ' and forget about it.

I thought if a bus was involved in an accident that it couldn't be moved until the police arrived?

I think the words "jammy" and another to do with the loss of blood are appropriate here.

Just be careful what you say to plod so as not to incriminate yourself in the original accident.

Janner - the bus was not hit - although it could be argued that it was the original cause of the accident.

Are you sure its not one of these insurance scams where people deliberately involve themselves in accidents to claim vast personal damages from whiplash etc. Favorite technique is to disconnect the brake lights to make it easier for people to rear end you. Did you spot his brake lights going on?? They both fell out???

Janner - the bus was not hit -

The bus pulled out infront of the car without indication, i think the guy in front has clipped the bus.

Maybe the bus didn't realise or they didn't actually touch?

What an idiot for pursuing you knowing that he didn't have tax or insurance.

I guess they get disciplined pretty heavily if involved in an accident, so will try and get away if they possibly can (claiming afterwards "I never realised there had been a collision" etc.)

I once got run into the kerb by a bus full of passengers (2 lanes, bus was on the outside and drifted across). I stopped, and the bus just drove off!

Did the incident happen in the Tesco Car Park ?

Does this not constitute private land ? Might be an issue regarding the requirement of insurance ............

A car must be insured whether or not on private land if the public have access to that land.

But its publically accessible and the vehicle got there somehow - by travelling on public roads and it was not insured. The boys in blue would be very interested to know how an uninsured car got to tesco's.

Agreed but a separate issue completely and not directly related to the accident.

I once had a bus remove almost the whole offside of a Ford Orion hire car I was driving. He squashed me sideways up the kerb and dragged me along some pedestrian protection railings! We were both at a roundabout; he was going to turn right, and in the right-hand lane. I was going to go straight on, in the left-hand lane, alongside him. Unfortunately, he set off to the left to get a swing at the roundabout...

I have never seen so much damage at so slow a speed. I had to exit via the sunroof as no doors would open. The bus was quite badly damaged too. Light alloy panelling doesn't stand up too well to a weighty impact like that. He could hardly just carry on regardless, as he was dragging the wrecked carcass of the Ford with him!

I had completely forgotten about that until I read your post!

Mine was a lot more minor, just as well as I was in a Metro :o

Both nearside wheels scraped on the kerb, black marks down the offside body panels, and pulled the offside corner piece off the rear bumper.

Friend of mine was in a bus a few years ago when there was a loud thump as it clipped a pedestrian. If it wasn't for one irrate passenger the driver would have kept going. By some miracle the pedestrian was relatively un hurt
