Just sold one of my cars to a friend

I gave my 2011 W212 E220 CDi with 312k miles on it to my son just under 3 years ago who sold it to his best friends father a few months later.

He has put it through two further MOT's with no advisories and has now done just under 340k miles and is still running well.

A bullet dodged and they are still best friends. I also sold the same friend my SL at the same time and that has been ok as well and they are still best friends.

Never, ever do this. It will bite you in the ****!
So... just had my first callback to my friend, check light on, engine missing. Armed with my icarsoft scanner and some torx tools and some careful questioning, established that her brother had thoroughly degreased the engine bay. It looks beautiful but he managed to fill the sparkplug wells with water. Im amazed it ran at all. Dryed out and swapped plugs and coilpack from offending missfiring cylinder and then misfire code switched to the other cylinder so thinking still water in a coil or it went bad because of. At this point I offered to refund and take car back (influenced by all the comments about selling cars to friends) but they were having none of it, they love it. Because of their embarrassment they gave me money and damn it, I took it.

Hi , I purchased a 740 GLE from a mate and will stil drink together.

The only stipulation I made was the car was to be MOT ed.

I knew the service history of this car and he spent more on servicing etc than he paid for the car new.

He duly delivered the with 5 new premium tyres and a complete brake overhauls plus a full service.

Please don't feel sorry for my friend because he is not short of a Bob or two , he is a very generous man.

I sold the BMW X3 to a friend of my wife's back in July.
We were in invited to their son's wedding at the weekend over in Gloucestershire. The car was used to get the groom to the celebrations and they couldn't be happier with the car.
It looked very well cared for, very red and very shiny.
