Jut to say check your valve caps

Haven’t used metal caps for years because of the corrosion..
On my GLA I have a very narrow gap to squeeze two fingers in and remove the cap.
I would welcome longer (probably twice as long as standard) plastic caps but I can’t find any.
Funny enough they seem to be available in metal, some even have a removal tool, but nothing in plastic.
Any suggestions?

The proper Mercedes caps (no longer available?) have a plastic inner sleeve that's threaded to go onto the brass valve stem, so there's no metal to metal contact. I have them on the SL (plus one set in reserve!):

Used chrome valve caps for year .also the chrome tube to cover the rubber valve. Never had a problem until last year after the alloy wheel cleaner was used. .If you have plastic caps then this wont apply to you.

Or just use old school plastic caps......no bi-metallic corrosion then!

As I read the first post I thought that. Mine were stolen, two of the original years ago. I too thought they were hard to open so I went for the cheap plastic ones and they do not get jammed.

I used to have some locking RS dust caps on my old Escort RS Turbo many years ago, they had a tiny grub screw in the side, to lock them on.
