Good evening guys

picked up my 2017 eclass from the tinter’s today and car wouldn’t start saying that the fob not detected? Is it just a simple case of replacing the battery? And if so what batteries does it take?
Thanks in advance! (Again!)

Update guys! Replaced the battery and it’s still saying key fob not detected? I put the key in the slot under the 12v and it fires straight up!?

Probably a CR2032.

Thanks Chris! Hopefully it’s an easy quick fix! It was fine before I dropped it off and they said they haven’t done anything to it? Spare key is the same which makes me think it’s something in the settings?

Well if you get the car going, suggest you give it a good run, because sometimes that key not detected is all about the state of the cars battery,

Sorry, car starts fine when I put the key in the designated spot under the 12v power point. Just the keyless go doesn’t seem to work? It won’t start when I press the button, tells me that the key isn’t detected and to put it in the designated spot? I’ve done 50ish miles since it started. I’ll post the pics displaying the messages shortly

I suspect all the doors and interior lights etc have been left open while they were working on it.
On both of mine if that has happened, I can get various electrical functions not working and error messages.
Invariably, it takes two or three days of use, before they start to disappear without me doing anything.

Just to update y’all, car been stood a couple of days with no use. No change to entry but it started ok when I pressed the start button. Went back to it an hour later and it told me to put the key in the slot again. 😖😖😖

That’s exactly what’s happened! Slowly started getting all the functions back and now back to normal! How weird!! Thanks very much RF! I’d usually have raced it straight into the garage to have it looked at!

I have the same problem in my mercedes eqc. The car has been to the brand twice and still have the same problem. Did you manage to solve it? What was the solution? Thank you
