I understand that keyless go is not available on the new SLK because there is interference with the roof electronics. I believe they have this sorted with the SL but does anyone know if they have made any progress with solving the problem in the SLK or how I find out?

Thanks

Keyless Go only matters when the car is not running. Such as getting in and starting the engine. The story doesnt sound plausible.

Maybe if it is relating to the engine OFF ..... but that is more or less not key dependent.

So I cant see the problem myself on the basis of this initial evaluation.

What you say makes sense but I don't have any other explanation as to why it is available on the SL and not the SLK.

I would like to investigate further but not sure how to proceed.

The SL has everything possible. Anything below that will have some of the feature set but in order to preserve market position there is a capping of features on some cars.

Looking at the part numbers I notice that the 5 door handle parts (4 side and 1 rear) are W203 part numbers. That may be some kind of light .....

To do just the gear selector you need to speak to Steve and get him to install just the engine on and engine off. I dont see any reason why the SLK can not be modified. I dont see any chance that it will be included in the 171.

Interesting thanks for the input. I will investigate further. The car hasn't been built yet and I was hoping that it would become an extra we could get built in.

You need to donate some of your hard earned money to the excesses of modification.
