ML350 2009
Just bought superb 2009 ML350. First ever Merc and very pleased except one frustration......the fixed KPH in centre screen. Can this be changed somehow? Any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks

This is a unique feature for the UK market, it shows you the speed in KMH, in case you ever drive in Europe (in other countries this area is showing the external temperature).

If this is the small display showing kph then that is fixed and cannot be changed.

You can have your instrument cluster reverted-back to European spec, this is known as 'Delete UK mod', you can Google it for more info.

But unfortunately it is not a DIY job, because it requires the use of MB STAR Diagnostic Computer, so you'll need to see a dealer or MB Specialist and ask them to do this for you.

Forum sponsors www.comandonline.co.uk can also do this, I suggest you give them a call.

If I recall correctly then changing the “country” using STAR (Mercedes workshop system) can change this but it changes other things too, so worth consulting an expert like Commandonline - it’s not a driver-configurable change.

I don't think an official MB dealer will do this coding, but it is easy to do using MB Star diagnostic (Xentry) in developer mode. An easy method would be reaching out to a fellow member with Star who has already successfully done this previously.
