Okay guys, I’m changing the leather in the w208 and I need some suggestions. Currently I have black on black in the car, black leather with black interior (dash, door cards etc), and Wood (Steering wheel, gear knob etc).

I’m thinking to re-trim the car in Sand (light beige) with black stitching or something like off-white with black stitching?

Give me your suggestions! I can have virtually any Mercedes factory colour

Thanks,

Sand, off white, pale grey look stunning in a black car. Go for it! I would tend to go for either a pale grey or sand though rather than off white myself;)

One of the best combinations I have ever seen was black paint with plum leather in a CLK320 in the stealership. It just looked "pimp" :)

The joys with having a black interior is that you can retrim the seats in a variety of colours. Piping won't look right on those seats, have the leather double stitched with black thread.

You could otherwise do the centres of the seats like i did in my R129 SL:

Personally i choose an off white/cream colour for the Brabus CE i owned. The colours i considered were dark red, plum, white or peach.

thanks for the input every1, very fast!

I’m thinking the same as you guys, something on the lines of Cream/White, KLPs your right about the piping, it wont look right on w208 seats as there’s hardly an edge to them. So getting coloured stitching is my only option for adding an edge.

Don’t forget the CLK I’m referring too is Jasper blue, that’s what made me initially think of Sand, I think it'll really set off the blue colour.

btw what does Plum colour look like?

Oh Vips yeh, coz I want too! lol I’ve got a leather offer I can’t refuse, I guess I’m abit bored of black too.

Plum won't look right in your car. Plum is more of a purply plum type colour!

With jasper blue definately go from a creamy colour, its the most striking combination. The only prob i could see is that the black stitching may look odd as the car is blue. Maybe better leaving the stitching cream. Its ok when the car's black but not sure on yours.

Have to say I fully agree. I didn't realise it was Jasper Blue - thought it was black:o ergo black trim would look odd. Unless you can get a blue to match the Jasper then I'd leave it as a non contrast stitching;)

Problem with the blue stitching is that it will look odd inside as the carpets and all other panels are black.

I agree, i think non contrast stitching is the safest bet.

shaz, agree with all the above! :)

Nice problem to have Shaz! Cream would look nice and contrast with the blue. IMHO. Do you think I should debadge my c180 or not????

okay, I’m going for the Sand with normal stitching, thanks for the advise. If anyone’s good at Photoshop, they could help me out with this pic

timmy, we generally debadge all our cars, the only badge id personally keep on would be something crazy like a x55 AMG

Yeah , thats really nice Shaz !! very well done !! :bannana:

I have only just noticed this thread , and as it's done already , i suppose my input is moot ... but ...

I was going to suggest that sort of biscuity/orangey/light terracotta colour you see in 911's sometimes......
