Last year I dedicated a lot of time detailing my old girl, very satisfied with the end resultView attachment 139846
Your valve covers, are they painted standard ones or some other material?
They're the earlier metal standard covers from factory. I believe around 2010 or thereabouts, AMG switched to plastic valve covers and the front timing covers were left unpainted too.

Cheers - so did your car come with those or did you replace the new plastic ones for metal ones to eliminate cracking issues?
They are original, day 1 from factory. No idea why they switched to plastic though, possibly a cost cutting exercise?

These japanese imports seem to have not the best options (no cooled seats etc).Oh yes they will fit, will need an assortment of rubber washers. Need 8 washers to form seal between the valve cover at the spark plug hole to the head. It's same diameter but slightly thicker for the metal covers. Will also need 2X seals for the front timing cover and valve cover gaskets for each bank.Almost certainly

Front timing cover gasket 2X (MA156 016 22 21) each £5.65
Valve cover gasket 1X (MA156 016 24 21/64) £21.40
Valve cover gasket 1X (MA156 016 25 21/64) £21.40
No idea the cost of valve covers or the front timing cover, which houses the magnets though?
I have cooled seats on mine, also got distronic sensor too but never needed to use it. Mines in Iridium SilverActually it's a basic white (calcite white)

Spent hours polishing her yesterday. Resin and sealant . Then ofcourse it got too dark to take decent pics and ofcourse it rained overnight to rub it in
