Morning chaps!

I have a couple of questions hopefully someone may be able to answer.

I have a 2012 c class coupe. I was driving down the motorway last night and as it's that time of year I needed to clean the screen every 2 minutes. As I did this the lights seemed to dim. I tried again and the lights were fine, however the next time the lights dimmed again. Unfortunately I then ran out of washer fluid :(

Anyway questions are...

1. Is this normal?
2. Do the lights have their own washers? I always thought it was a blank plate until I saw this video Mercedes Benz C300 - YouTube

Thanks!

The headlamp washers will operate automatically every 10 or so washes of the screen (actual number depends on model/year..).
You will also find the headlamps washer button close by the light switch?

EDIT - Apparently it's 5 time and there doesn't appear to be a separate headlamp wash button. It's all in the owner's handbook

On my C220 CDI MY13, there is no separate light washer button - like the one on my old CLK, it operates automatically with the 5th or 6th activation of the windscreen washer, as long as the lights are on.

You will notice the headlamps dim as the little men get out of the little trapdoors on the bumper with a squeegee and sort your headlamps.

Thanks very much!

You are correct there is no washer button. It's honestly like a new car now everything is dark when I leave work!

Not sure why the lights were dimming though?

Learn something new every day! Knew this was the right place for someone to answer my queries!

They don't actually dim, they just seem to dim as they are sprayed with high pressure water.

Just for fun, get Mrs JonnyMerc to check them while you test. She will be most impressed.
