Hi guys I am new here and I have a Mercedes W203 C270 CDI - 2002 which has some problems. The symptoms are that sometimes I am getting a message “under voltage consumer defective” and if I load up the power consumption on the car it is turning in red display showing “Battery/Alternator visit workshop”. The important part for me is that the car is going into LIMP mode sometimes (not going over 3000 RPM). Is it possible the alternator problem or old battery to put the car into LIMP mode as I read a million of treats already and I can not find anything?

Thank you very much in advance.

Might be - but why not fix the electrical problem and see if the limp home problem goes away?

Thank you for the quick respond. I was thinking to fix it but as i have to sell it any way the price will not change a lot so I decided to sell it as spear or repair but is just keep me so curies and interested if that will be the only reason.

load test battery and check output on alternator, should be 14v or just over (running) two easy tests, local discount parts shop will do that if you dont have equipment
