Hi group,

I'm going to install an after-market radio in my '02 A160 W168 Classic auto and I want to use an after-market plugin harness so I don't have to cut the factory wiring. I haven't been able to find one, can any one assist?

Secondly, I want to install an after-market alarm and again, I don't want to cut factory wires, so I'm looking for a harness to plug into the ignition harness running up the steering wheel to the key switch.

Thanks in advance!

Car has ISO plugs no harness needed,

Thanks for that!

Any help on a harness to tie into ignition wires?

Cheers!

If installing an alarm with immobiliser, then you will have to cut and solder things. the wiring you need to connect to is not in one place, and I'd suggest you have it professionally installed.

As to the car radio, do that yourself, it is easy and plug and play ..

HI Richard, thanks again...

Can you provide or do you know where I can find a wiring colour code and location list? I'am a professional car audio and security installer.

Cheers!

I worked in the industry as an installer for 11 years but that was way back in the 1900's... 8^) There was no ISO back then so no, I didn't know what ISO is; we hand wired everything.

The principles are the same. Cars have changed but I am still confident I can do the job, professionally.

Its standard ISO wiring (for the Audio) but there may not be a switched ignition feed on the ISO plug, so get it from the cigarette lighter

If you're thinking about the alarm, then you can subscribe to WIS for a hour and have a look at the wiring diagrams for everything.

Thanks again.

Do you know if there is an equivalent for Australia? Registration is only for users in countries listed and Australia isn't.

There's an american version

www.startekinfo.com

But you have to pretend you are in USA, and you have to persuade it to authenticate your credit card with a US address. This is simple as address authentication is done with the numbers in your building number and your zip-code only. So use your building number in address line, and take the numbers in your postcode, and pad it to 5 numbers by appending zeros. For instance, a post code of NSW 4389 becomes a zip code of 43890

The US version minimum subscription is 1 day, so a bit more money, and you get 1 day + the remained of your day based around eastern time.

Thanks again Richard!

Unfortunately A160 isn't in USA so there may not be any information on their site. I sent them a message to find out before I purchase.

Cheers!
