looking to purchase 2019 GLE

Nice,

Like the colour, can't comment on the price.
A few details the check

What tread is left on the tyres-are they the originals, if so they might be getting low?
Is the nav due an update?
With only 4-5k miles a year, will they read the dpf for you just in case?
Is it due a service?

From your profile it looks like the car is some distance away from you.
Based upon what I have seen on here over the years, buying an "approved used" MB does not necessarily mean that the car is without faults - and then there is an argument about whether your local dealer will carry out the repairs or whether you have to deal with the supplying dealer. The MB used warranty is not the end to end seamless "drop into any MB dealer and we will sort it out" warranty that you might have expected.
If I were buying at a distance from a MB dealer I would be asking lots of questions about the warranty and I would want to get any promises in writing.
By the way it is almost guaranteed that you will be needing the warranty when you get a problem with the adblue system; you can reckon on a four figure repair bill otherwise.

thanks for the response, yes the reliability of the adblue sysem has made me rethink.

and yes it is 200miles away.

new tyres, as for dpf and nav update not asked. tbh, this adblue system scares the pants of me i cant spend 55k on a car to have such issue hanging over me.
great motor let down by the adblue issues.
just serviced.

I have a 2022 GLE350de, what is the issue with the adblu system just so I am prepared. I also have towbar and because it is hybrid with a big battery I can have the full 3500kg tow.
The only problem i have is squeaky rear seatbelts, sounds daft but they squeak as you go round corners, my dealer is playing deaf lol. I did not get the augmented reality or wireless charging due to chip shortage but have everything else. Decided to go with cart springs rather than the aromatic due to towing

I would agree. It would hack me off to spend that much on a car and then be without it waiting for parts.....
Petrol or EV is now the way to go. The problem is that most petrol cars now also have a pointless "self charging" (ffs) or plug in battery with all the added complexity and weight of that - and the hybrid technology all waiting to go wrong - leading to more pita visits to the dealer and wishing you'd bought a proper car from the mid 2000s :D

It is unreliable, relatively expensive to fix and parts have been in short supply. In some fault scenarios the car will not allow you to start it if it detects a fault (this is part of the euro 6 regs to stop non compliant cars being used with a fault) - even if the fault is a sensor which has gone faulty. So many problems with the system that many owners are having the whole system mapped out of the cars turning them back into euro 3/4 diesels and illegal to use on the road - I suppose the view is that it is unlikely that they will be caught. It is not just MB, it is every manufacturer.

Thanks Smiley.
Incidentally we are getting 80-90km on a charge for pure electric driving, which covers all our local shopping trips etc. i think it is excellent considering the front of the car is a brick against the wind
