Hi there,
two days ago while driving my car,and while shifting from P to D,I heard a sound (as metal hits metal)as something is loose, especially when the knob hits the D,I shifted to R and heard the same,I shifted to N and heard the same. The knob itself seems loosy in my hand and it can go forward and backward without engagement(I recall it was tighter before). Is it something to be replaced? When I looked deep inside the gear,I saw after the nut a rubber, and it seems as it moved from its place.
My car is E220,made in 1995.
What is that? is it an easy DIY job? or do I have to visit the technicians?
Technicians here are hell, they know nothing, they just learn on your car.
(I live in Kuwait).
Thanks in advance
