and then overprice them :)

message to vendors - just because Parkers says it's worth £1400 doesn't neccessarily mean that's what somebody will pay for it.

1988 300E - guide price about £500 if you follow trends on eBay

1992 for £460

1992 for £680

there are plenty of others as well

I think he probably joined almost two years ago and lurked around a lot - his first post has been to sell a car, yes, but if he's been waiting two years to do that and not reading the forum then I'd be surprised :-)

He probably joined when he bought it thinking that if it breaks down he can post a message but being a W124 it never did ;)

Well, apart from the valve stem seals, brakes, suspension, and exhaust :D

what a miserable bunch

God, what a bunch.

Thanks to this forum in the past I've learnt a lot about the these cars, buying mine two years ago with knowledge gleaned from this site. The car's given me a lot of pleasure. I always wanted a W124 and when I needed a second car for a couple of years I bought one (I also run two motorbikes as well as the family car). Maintaining it has been helped by what I've learnt here. I never posted because I didn't have much to say - not as knowledgable as you experts obviously. I advertise a really nice car in case someone wants to buy it. If it's over-priced, thanks for the info. But do you have to be so mean-spirited?

To those who's advice has been helpful in the past, thanks. To those who want to carp, get a life. If someone wants to buy a nice car, get in touch. And if it's over-priced I'll haggle (but is a much better and totally original car with genuine low mileage than most battered cheapies out there).

Well said momagic.

An uncalled for attack. A few posters get v. territorial and cliquey about this bb.

Well said talk about jumping in a bit harsh there poeple. Is it the heat or what  Its a free forum with free classified section. What is the harm. If people dont like it then put something in the feedback section so the mods can take a look at it. Such as 'No classified ads if you have less than 30posts' as is a rule on another forum I visit.

Just my 2p

Lol and here is me wanting to share all this reputation lovin around :D

I'm guilty !! :(

Mark , i'm sorry........ good luck with the sale of the car mate !!!

I'm not usually that miserable, just must have been a bad 5 minutes ...

once again my apologies....

H

Nicely done Howard, we all have bad days.

If my post came across as rude then I apologise as well, it wasn't meant to.

I was trying to be constructive by offering examples of car prices - Prices for older large cars with big engines are in a real slump at the moment, something the trade guides haven't really responded to and what would have sold effortlessly for £1000+ is currently struggling to make half of that.

Good luck with the sale and if I offended you then I'm sorry.

Andy

Hey, Momagic.....

.....how about a couple of pics, wouldn't hurt.

I used to have a 300te, really good car, a real load-carrier......I used to use it to go down the local 'tip' all the time.......

.......but it used to follow me home everytime......lol......

Just kidding, wish I'd never sold it now. :(

Anyway 'Good Luck'

Cheers, Bill.
