I recently bought a car as an interim car for someone who's own had been written off - basic transport while waiting for the ins. co. to settle. I looked at a lot of skanky cars (all much newer and more expensive) with problems, no service records, abuse, neglect, dodgy paperwork etc before buying this little honey. Now this car is for sale.
1985 Honda Prelude 1.8 Executive Auto. 52,000 documented miles with 16 MOTs & a fantastic 90% Honda service history to back up mileage. It's metallic light blue with a blue/grey cloth interior. It has electric windows, sunroof, mirrors, aerial (all working), a decent period radio/cassette, rear wash/wipe, alloy wheels. EVERYTHING works. It has 2 sets of keys, a V5, manuals, old tax discs, the old MOTs mentioned above, pages of service history etc.
MOT'd until 09/01/06, taxed 'til the end of 11/05. It was owned by the same family from 05/09/1990 until 27/08/05 when I bought it.
Yesterday I drove it 320 miles from the Reading area to Nottingham & back on motorways, A roads & minor roads. It did this without complaint, at up to 90mph. It burns no oil, has no leaks and seems to be bulletproof. In all it has covered over 2,000 miles in my ownership without incident. It's a good old car with a lot of life left in it - reliable, comfortable, economical, presentable. Honda's have a well earned reputation for building quality cars.
I'm asking £650. Open to reasonable offers.
