Came across this low mileage diesel on eBay. Other end of the country for me but might be a good car for members who are nearer to it. It is a low spec diesel

Maybe but it won’t cost a lot to repair a section .It looks like it has Artico interior, will it crack at around 50K miles?
Check out the German taxis still rolling about after 500,000 kms. Artico was put in because it wears better than leather. It might crack if left in heat and sun, but a trimmer can repair a panel for very little money. It looks like it has Artico interior, will it crack at around 50K miles?
And would it turn up...........The problem: who wants to take a train to Angus, just north of Dundee, Scotland to pick up a motor?
Plus all fluidsHmmmmm. (Did I mention I just love W211?!) It would need four new tyres for sure (think the ad implies that are the originals, so almost 20 years old) And SBC to take into account. I have asked for the VIN

I read it that there were new Michelins put on the car because of age related perishing of the original tyresHmmmmm. (Did I mention I just love W211?!) But such great cars
On the second advert, it does imply that a little more clearly. I have asked in any caseI read it that there were new Michelins put on the car because of age related perishing of the original tyres
So £500'ish for us ham-fisted mortals? (aka get the garage to do it)DIY about £150-200 for all fluids ?
How come the Artico on my CLK started cracking at 55K miles?Check out the German taxis still rolling about after 500,000 kms. Artico was put in because it wears better than leather. It might crack if left in heat and sun, but a trimmer can repair a panel for very little money.

I thank you for your confidence, but DIY on this ort of thing is not for me. I am great in the kitchen and fairly competent on IT related issues, but oily stuff where safety is involved? I'd be worrying about "what if!" and "did I?" when my loved one was driving it!You would easily do it
Engine oil £30+
Brake fluid £20 ?
Coolant ?
Diff Oil £30
ATF, if it’s the 5g box , you could pump it out the engine bay dipstick tube with a Pela pump £60
It’s always safest if you get your other half to test drive it just in case , especially if you have tackled brakes and critical stuff .I thank you for your confidence, but DIY on this ort of thing is not for me.
