Lowering my 300CE

So after a test drive yesterday I reasised that the front was being held up by the bump stop spacers. I removed them today and the front dropped slightly. I think I might need to trim down the bump stops too to allow more travel. Anyone any experience please ?

I found this guide to bump stops.

My new standard ones are 96mm, so I will chop them down and see how she sits then.

I have cut the stops down to about 70mm. This now gives approximately 20mm upward travel on the shock which is around 40mm at the wheel. She is now driving nicely with no rubbing on bumps or bends.

The car now needs a full alignment done, but I will have to sort out the rear camber first. It looks to be four or five degrees. I will probably drill and weld the outer mount holes in the lower arm to correct this. I will leave it until the winter though and enjoy driving her over the summer for now.

I have been driving and enjoying my coup over the summer.
Come October I want to finish the rear suspension.
I was looking at the suspension today and think that if I move the outer hole on the lower arm in by a few mm it will sort the camber BUT looks like it will cause lots of toe out. Is there enough adjustment in the toe to sort this ??
Anyone know please ??

Lovely looking car and ride height looks spot on. So much better than before. Good work:thumb:

Sorry for the refloat but your car looks great, new wheels and height suits her fine!
Back wheels stance seems visually ok to me but any good tyre fitter shop could put the geometry you want.
May i ask what colour code is your car?

Thanks for the compliments guys.
I will check the paint codes tomorrow.
The wheels I got from mb- youngclassics.de.
I haven't been driving the car much and haven't got the alignment done yet due to a house move.
