Now have a S212 350 PETROL! . Did have 1992 W124 300E Ford Escort 1300E(now sold!)
Can anyone recommend an decent oil for my '92 300E.It will be doing around 6K a year of mixed motoring. No oil usage and I think it has castrol in it at the moment but can't be sure.

10W40 that meets either 229.1 or 229.3 spec should be fine.

FUCHS Titan XTR 10W40 or Millers Oils XSS 10W40 both meet MB 229.1 as Ollie recommends Change your oil once a year based on your motoring history. Fully synthetic "thinner" oils apart from their extra cost are not necessary on these older engines and tend to show up worn seals a bit more.
