ECP are currently selling Crossland air filters for M113 engines, part number 502220908 for an extortionate £1.53 each.

They fit the air boxes on my 98 SL500 perfectly. Not heard anything bad regarding Crossland but even so, at this price you can replace them six monthly.

They used to be a major player and well regarded. ECP bought the name a few years back (but nothing else) and now use it as a rebrand to hawk whatever rock-bottom shite they can lay their hands on.

Not heard anything bad about Crossland filters ? Stick around for a short while . I aint sayin' nuffiink'

Okay, a bit more digging around on another auto forum has a few bad comments, though nothing detrimental. I await further education, could be a waste of £3.. and back to OE or Mann, Bosch

I bought the £1.50 filters last year but then decided to get genuine ones and there was a noticable difference in the surface area where the surrounding rubber seal was a lot larger on the crossland filters compared to the genuine ones. Therefore, taking up the space for filtering. Not sure how much it would affect the butt dyno etc but just sharing what I saw between the two.

They are not the best buy why skimp on a part that quite vital on your car. Mann filters are a great alternative to MB genuine.

Oh well, looks like they have had their two days out and will be replaced this week.

@BlackC55…Absolutely, not worth skimping on any parts.

I just thought I’d point out a potential bargain, thank you all for the good info…

I paid £29 yesterday for a pair of genuine HWA1040940104 filters at the dealer. Hardly a King's ransom and worth the peace of mind to me.

That cheap of a UK dealer price for genuine HWA filters will never happen at the $tealership in Sweden!
I would say price would be approx £80 to £90 quids for one filter?
Getting f@cked everytime I shop from the dealer, even with 10% customers discount price for parts still very expensive! :wallbash:

I'm fortunate to have a very friendly parts man at my dealer!
