m270 cdi alarm probs

hi all my friend has the m270 cdi and last saturday someone tried to break in it unsucessfull i might add ,anyway since that day the car alarm is in some sort of SAFE MODE and is not usable, does anyone have any idea how to reset the alarm system back to normal ,he has had an ex mechanic from mercedes look at it and even he is stumped .

any help would be great so my friend can get his merc back on the road thanks people

Try disconnecting the battery for a while and then re-connect

Ask him to look in his handbook for the alarm instructions, it should say something along the lines of "in case of activation" and then give details of what to do, sorry for seeming cynical but i would be surprised if you get any more detailed information, being a unknown new member asking for advice for a friend to help reset or bypass an alarm does sound a bit iffy if you know what i mean, have you tried ringing the dealers? or using mobilife assistance?

yeah thanks chris it does sound a bit iffy, but im genuine in trying to help my friend .cause hes driving round in a renault at the mo.
ive given him the login details of this account and hopefully he will come in himself ,he not that computer friendly thats why im doing it .

when you say the alarm is in safe mode, what is the vehicle Alarm doing?

Does it Arm and disarm or does it go off?
