Hi Recenly bought a 52 plate 270ML CDi it has a problem of running rough on tickover and when booted going into limp mode. When switched off and re started it runs fine for a few minutes. I am informed this is most likely caused by a series of flaps on the manifold and they can be removed and the holes covered this should alleviate the problem. Please any help or info ?? :(

Easy job to do once the manifold is off.

I would get a professional opinion first though as it sounds like another problem.

Need to get star machine connected to vehicle to see fault, do not remove flaps and cover up holes as this will still cause engine faults, if it is something to do with manifolds, it would either be motor or rod which connects to flaps does fall off.

When mine had a drive motor problem it wouldn't rev past 2000rpm.
The Manifold got changed as i was told at the time you can't get the bits.
My problem was solved.
Yours sound more like the MAF

Just finished fixing this problem on my clk320cdi, the first cheap way to do this is to put a 2.7k ohm resistor between the two wires (there will be three wires one of which is brown, place the resistor between the other two) of the plug to the inlet shut off motor, if the problem goes away either replace the motor or remove the flaps and plug holes, not a massive job.

A word of warning, when removing turbo, inlets, exhaust elbows. Its best to replace all the gaskets, i didn't and had to strip it all again

Good luck mate
