March Holiday

Had a clairvoyant type tell me at the neighbourhood xmas GTG it was the same fuselage as MH17, we were drunk-ish, but he did tell a few good Pyramid stories....

Mauritius might be a good shout been there twice and plenty of sun and pool, beach time.

Night life you'll need to look into though.

OK thought I would seek the panels input on this one

Want to take the family away over Easter only 3 of us daughter aged 22. Bit of a treat for her as she has moved to a very demanding job so could do with a break

Need somewhere hot 25 degrees minimum, main objective is just to chill plenty of pool and beach time then bars and restaurants at night either 7 - 10 days distance not a problem

Off the agenda are Egypt and Middle East but other than that what do the panel think?

Never been myself , but we had neighbours who lived in Townsville , Queensland for many years and spoke about the scorching temperatures in their summer ( now ) out there .

Perhaps a bit off the beaten track , and a civilised country where they speak our language - so might suit SWMBO and JSWMBO ?

Only negative might be the distance ?

Punta Cana.

Sounds a bit modest compared to all these suggestions, but we love Alghero (Sardinia) in spring. Very warm, beautiful sea, caves and wonderful views. A lovely old town to meander around and if you hire a car some splendid drives. :)

A bit closer to home giving more time there and less time travelling, how about Burnt Island? Lovely beaches and as its name suggests, it is hot.

Sri Lanka?

Average temperatures are suitable, great beaches, friendly people and.......great curries as well as sea food.:)

Look at :http://www.casacolombo.com/

Not visited myself but it is a strong recommendation from a friend and he is very, very fussy about hotels and service.

We got married in bentota, sri Lanka in may 2007 and loved it. Bit windy but very warm. Lots to see and do.
Ko samui, Thailand is really nice and weather should be OK.
Singapore is a great place to visit but not a relaxing beach holiday and expansive.

I did a lot of years in the Royal Navy and travelled all over the world. If I wanted to go back somewhere that is hot and nice at the same time I wouldn't hesitate in booking up for the Maldives. There are literally hundreds of islands to choose from so you have the choice of the busy larger islands or you can pick somewhere like the one I managed to escape to for 3 days which only had about twenty apartments.
I am giving this opinion without bias as it didn't really cost me anything to get there and it was only beer tokens while there so I don't need to say " I paid millions and it is the best holiday you can have ".

If you decide to go can I come with you?
Dave.

Difficult time of year to achieve everything you are after weather wise. Even Miami is patchy. Dubai is of course not too bad weather wise given it is a relatively short haul flight, but you don't seem keen on it as an option. You'll have to head into the southern hemisphere to get great weather.

Cape Town?

As someone else suggested: Koh Samui in Thailand. We've been there many times and love it. Good temperatures around Easter time and usually well away from rainstorms. North end of the island is made for chilling with lots of great restaurants that are also very economical. Nothing beats a table and chairs on the sandy beach with a cold Singha and the sound of the waves gently washing up on the shore. The only minor downside is the hour or so relatively expensive flight from Bangkok or Singapore - tempered by landing at one of the most beautiful airports in the world.

Again as suggested by others, the Caribbean. We're off to Barbados in January. The temperature stays about the same all year - high 20s in the day, low 20s at night. Easter is in the driest part of the dry season. BA and Virgin have direct flights there (and I think they both have sales on at the moment).

South Goa? Just had two weeks there. Lovely.

South Goa gets my vote too, we usually go in January to the Holiday Inn(8 times), it's lovely.

In March though, it may be a little humid, it apparently gets more and more humid before the monsoon season from May/June to September.

Having said that though, we're giving Sri Lanka a go this year, I hope we're not disappointed.

Thanks for that will look a bit deeper at Goa

We've been to a resort called Letoonia in fethiye twice, simply because it was so good. nice place, very relaxing, any activity you want, immaculately kept, friendly staff, own private charter boat, etc.

Alternatively, Zanzibar is on my list of places to go.
