A lesson from history here, brought to you from the idiot who left Surfex HD residue as it ran down his open estate tailgate glass. You know, nice vertical streak lines down the glass. The Surfex HD (Great Product) had been correctly used to remove heavy oil staining fron the tailgate and I got lazy, going for a cuppa as I thought it was soaking in doing it's job.
Well it did it's job and somebody else's job. It ate into the glass coating on the rear screen, requiring a new rear screen (yes all other attempts at removing the etched stains on the glass failed).
Warning #2. SHOULD YOU CONSIDER PHONING MB AND ASKING FOR A PRICE, FOR A NEW REAR TAILGATE GLASS FOR W124 ESTATE? MAKE SURE YOU ARE EITHER SITTING OR LYING DOWN AND HAVE TAKEN A TRANQUILISER BEFORE THEY MENTION THE PRICE.
