Hi

New to this forum as my wife takes delivery next week of her new c-class estate. It's a c200 petrol sport auto in white with black interior. We looked at this car and a volvo V60 - Mercedes so much better when trying them out back to back.

It's replacing our long loved 2006 SAAB 9-5 2.3t estate auto that we've had since 2007 and has covered 120k with us. I've found a Saab forum hugely helpful and look forward to getting to know people here.

We are not leaving the Saab community though. I still have a 2009 9-5 diesel estate that with 125k that I hope will soldier on for a while.

Coming back to MB having had a 1998 CLK200 Sport auto and a 2009 E240 estate avantgarde auto before we defected to Saab!

Looking forward to the MB again, but sad the star on the bonnet is a thing of the past!

Welcome to the forum. We too had a 9-5 Turbo Edition which went to make room for the Vito. The star can be retrofitted!

Hello,

Welcome to the site

I had a Volvo V60. It was 'ok' but I found it a bit boring to drive and ended up hating the front end. I liked the rear but I really went off the look of the front. It was the SE Lux Premium Nav with lots things as standard including satnav but I didn't love it.
Depreciation was bad for the 1st owner. It was approx £33k new and I paid £18k at a few months old.

I then had a TT but although it was quick, it was like riding a skateboard so I went off that.

I went to look at a used Sportbrake but it seemed massive and I didn't need something quite so big.

I just bought a C Class estate but only a 62 reg. Not new this time but I'm hoping to keep it a bit longer than my last 2 which didn't last a year

I think she made the best choice choosing the C class over the V60

Nice to get validation of the decision - we were really disappointed in the volvo when we tried it. Big discount available, but although we liked the look of the car, driving it was a real let down.

As far as star goes, the arc it makes when cornering never ceased to make me feel smug!
