Right boys and girls.

Today I went to MB world to buy a gift for a friend and have a butchers at an E500, for me and my mum (I'm hoping I get to keep the w202 tbh). I spotted a little w126 AMG today and we got talking to one of the representatives - Alex, I think his name was. I started asking him about the engines, specifically as to how many they now produce annually, since in 06 their production figures were quite high in comparison to today's.

Anyway a long story short. I know there is a very lucky guy out there with an AMG engine that has been signed by two engineers. A very big rarity as some may know. Now here is the problem - MB world want to put the car on display. And they want you. But I forgot which one of you lucky feckers has it. PM me as soon as possible. I have an email address to forward to you.

I know it was a 55 AMG.
I'm pretty sure it was a CLS too, though I maybe wrong.

People please PM me. Even if you only have the slightest of ideas as to who this guy was. Or even better if you know, or are, the guy himself.

C240sport97 recently bought a lovely CLS55 AMG.

LINK

I wonder if it could be him?

Thanks Jazz. I'll chase him up tomorrow.

I've had a long day today, so I'm going to bed. I'm positive its one of you guys. I've tried searching for the link I saw a while ago on here but nothing has come up.

I hope to see a feck load of PM tomorrow. If not I'll keep searching.

MODs... if one of yous could make this a sticky for a week or so that would be nice. Many thanks

Will they pay a premium for it HB?

They aren't interested in buying it. They just want to put it on display. As I recall what from what Alex (the MB rep) told me, they will store and look after your car properly. Servicing, valeting... basically they will go the whole hog. All they want to do is display this rare vehicle.

Ren - apologies for my poor English tonight I know you enjoy reading proper English and not some of the twaddle I come out with occasionally.

NB. I would imagine such a rare engine with TWO signatures over of the customary one would immediately set this car with an excessively high premium.

That was the one. I just read my first post and I called it a w126. Stupid me. Testement to how bloody tierd I was / am.

Seems reasonable to me, they will pay you vast amounts of cash, as compo

I wonder if they want a lovely C43.. (some attention required to bodywork)

My engine's not signed at all :(

An engine with 2 signatures? Seems to defeat the raison d'etre of an engine being hand built by one man? Did Franz built the top half or bottom half? :dk: Was Hanz --on maternity leave? visiting the in-laws in Dusseldorf? pulling a " sicky"that day? We need to know!;)

You might want to make the thread title actually relate to the request, while you're going all sticky

"Does your AMG engine have 2 signatures on it?" might actually catch the eye of your suspect :thumb:

Hey guys thanks for you feed back.

Well I tried to pop by MB world today after my job interview, but it didn't go very well, so I just came home.

Alex, a rep from MB world, confirmed (yesterday) that there was one AMG engine that had a two signatures because one of the engineers broken their leg, so another engineer finished it. When it came to the signature they didn't know which name to put on it so they just signed it by both.

Now I'm pretty sure I've seen a picture of this rare beauty hanging around on the web. We just need to find the luck B@stard that owns this machine.

Gidlock - I will change the title now to reflect the nature of this thread. Thanks :thumb:
Edit - I can no longer change the title. Could a MOD please change the title for me to gridlocks suggestion of "Does your AMG engine have 2 signatures on it?" Thank you.
