MBU-3000 Handset Compatibility

I've searched the internet for any info on what phones the MBU-3000 is compatible with but there's not a massive amount of info on them yet.

My contract is up in a couple of weeks so I want to make sure that I upgrade to a phone that's going to work with the kit - anyone have any recommendations or maybe let me know about any issues with phones they have.

I assumed because it has a Parrot chipset it would pretty much work with anything but my existing phone doesn't work with it (Sony Xperia Play). I know the kit works though because they tested it in my car when I bought it (the guy's from COMAND) and also my wife's phone works fine with it.

When I try to connect it finds the device but at the point where it should ask for a password it just says (error connecting to device). I know some older versions of Android don't like the 1234 passkey on Bluetooth devices but my phone connects to my ELM/OBD2 adaptor fine and that has the 1234 code - I also have no issues with it when using Torque etc.

Anyway, I digress - any phone recommendations??????

Cheers.

Know what you mean about some Androids being fussy but I've had no bluetooth problems with my SEXPlay across many cars with different eras of BT. Haven't tried it with one of those though.

Yeah, I've never had an issue with this phone with any other BT devices but I know the MBU-3000 works as my wifes Samsung connects fine - it can make and receive calls and sync phonebook etc.

Hi Richard, I would like to go the iPhone route but I have so many apps I use now that are for Android that I really have to go that route.

The one's that seem to be popular at the moment are the Samsung Galaxy SIII and HTC One X+ but I'd like to know someone else has one working before ordering it. If in doubt I'll likely go the Samsung route as my wife's Samsung worked fine.

Again I have iPhone 4S and it works well. I think that anybody making kit is building it around Samsung and apple at the moment should be fine.
