MCT gearbox - clutch life?

The price varied quite a bit when I was looking in 2001. It varied from just below £400.00
To £250.00.
I paid just under £300.00 iirc all included this was just a service I might add. The transmission guy I used recommended to have the transmission serviced about every 30k.

When inquiring who ever you decide to go with. Ask the spealist/people if they have a history of knowing or working on the MCT transmission as it's not as common as the other auto transmission out there.

One outfit described how they would flush the torque converter through before he filled with new trans oil. You can imagine I didn't use there offer 🥴.

FYI, the rest of the box is very similar, with a wet plate clutch pack in the place of a standard torque converter.

How much do you charge for a MCT 7 speed to be serviced? And is it possible to remove all the old fluid?

£288 Inc vat and yes, using the return line gets 90% of it out.

That's what I was told. And paid a very similar price.

Do you get many in for transmission failure with the MCT?
Only when they have been abused by people with no mechanical sympathy. Had one in recently that had melted the electroplate into a puddle of plastic on top of the valve body.

I assume it arrived on a flat bed 🥴

That's why the 7 speed torque converter box is way more able for extra torque and power over the MCT I have read. But like anything, if abused you will pay the price in the long run.
