Cleaned the car last weekend, 5 days and 300mls later a quick spray with the detailer and a buff and incredable! Bugs simply wiped away, road dirt wiped away, shine back, excellent product

As stated on the bottle, it restores the finish of the wax coat

You posted that bugs and grim wiped away... with the wash or the QD..?

With the QD, that's the point! The car had already been cleaned, waxed. This was just a quick clean-up after the weeks commute :)

I wouldn't advise using that after 300 miles / 1 week -- any dirt may get scraped around the paint... wash off first - rinse - dry then use the detailer to restore the wax finish.....not straight onto dusty / dirty paintwork..

Yes I have to agree, wouldn't make a habit out of it.

You really need plenty of water and shampoo suds to safely remove the dust/dirt/bugs etc, if it were a dark colour you'd notice swirls and minor scratching quite quickly!

I was a bit sceptical myself but the whole idea behind these detailers is one doesn'e need to wash the car. Again the car wasn't dirty to look at just dusty.

My first experience of detailing spray was at Jay's GTG last summer. I had just arrived when a bird cr*pped all over my bonnet. Some nice chap in a very shinny SLK offered to clean it up. He just spray detailer all over the bonnet and wiped it clean. Made the rest of the car look very dusty!

I gather the car has been well waxed before you used the detailer (from your pic)..what wax do you use?

No wax, MER polish :o

Bought Collinite #915 and Meguire's clay kit at the same time as the detailer spray, so will be having a go soon.

It's called Last Touch when you buy it in 5l bottles (and smells of coconut :D) - use it diluted with a clay bar or neat to remove light garage dust etc.

I use the QD after every wash and or polish as it provides an excellent deep shine removing any excess wax smear or leather streak particularly seen on a dark colour.

Yes that is what i use, it's great and as Andrew said smells nice.

Added a layer of Collinite now and it looks marvelous!

The metal flecks in the paint seem to shine out far more :)

Be very very careful with q/d its not designed to clean a dirty car , any grime , or bugs on the paint could end up marking the paintwork.

I have learnt to my cost with my Skyline as its normally cleaned prior to shows and then garaged , after i arrive at the show i give it a spray with Q/D and a quick wipe over and it it looks great only after a few times do you notice the swirls and random scratches you are adding
