As my 300ce has gone back into storage for another couple of years and as the bettle is unlikely to get finished anytime soon, I fancy another wee toy to muck about with.

So, I'm interested in a cheap clk. Needs to be big engined, ideally silver upto £1000. I'm not fussed if it's tatty, it just needs to be reliable.

Any tips on what to look out for would also be helpful.

So you want a clk55 for a grand or less!!Is it just the engine you want or the whole car lol

V8 CLK's in that price bracket , probably aren't going to have been maintained particularly well.

There's a few big ticket items that can fail if not looked after.

I'd up the budget a bit and get a decent one.

Thanks guys - im the ever optimist for a cheap ride!

I suspect your right and might need to double the budget.

Still not enough for a 55??!!

Rusty in all the usual places , no mention of mileage ?

For that price , if it's not starship miles it might be worth a punt

Yes, I'm watching that one but worried the seller has no history on ebay...

Might be worth a wee punt tho...

No longer required.

I managed to agree a deal on a 430 clk with all the toys. I collect it next week.

I nice wee winter run around!

My winter hack needs various bits and bobs:

1. Front bumper towing eye cover in silver.
2. Front and rear genuine mud guards.

It's a 2001 clk 430 btw
