Mercedes A & B service schedule?

Hi

While being new to Mercedes ownership, I understand that Mercedes cars follow a schedule of an A service followed by a B service and so on. My car has had the following so far, A, B, A, B, and A, which led me to believe that my next service would obviously be a B service.

However, the cars computer is telling me that my next service should be an AO service. I've only done about 3,000 miles since the last A service, so I guess my question is do Mercedes cars follow the ABAB schedule as a matter of course irrespective of usage, or does the car determine what service is required based on usage?

Only take notice of the service indicator when it’s due with around 500miles to go-in the meantime it will flip between A and B.

Mine is telling me A1 this morning. I know my next service is a B for sure.

Thanks...so it begs the question...what's the point of it apart from letting you know when it's due?

No idea. In February last year my car was showing the next service as B5, which was incorrect, then in June it flipped to A5, which is correct.

My W211 is showing next service as a 'C' service.

W211’s will be on a now defunct service regime.
