Hi All,
I am in a ranty mood and Bristol Mercedes have annoyed me, again!
Problem:
Noisy ABS pump and dash lights on a 2002 W163 270 CDI ML.
Fix: Pulled Relay k25
Analysis:
Problem is intermittant: IMHO requires star analysis of alarm code and a new relay fitting to see if relay is broken or something else is broken. i.e. if problem goes away it is probably a bad relay. Wiring looks fine and bone dry (no wet weather recently).
Time take for me to analyse and cure: 35 seconds.
Wife has same problem occur whilst driving with very small child in the car - advise her over the phone of cure. She fixes quickly by pulling the relay and putting back in again - time taken to fix, about 2 mins.
Advise her to go to MB Bristol on Cribbs Causeway and get them to simply replace the relay (about a minutes work) and if they have time, STAR analyse (not expecting this)
MB Bristol say "sorry not got time to do anything, leave the car with us for a few days and we will look at it"
Utter pillocks:
a, why not take 30 seconds to have a look - i.e. good customer service
b, advise a new relay fitted and see how it goes - i.e. good engineering/quick fix option
c, Small child on board needs to get home - of course we cannot leave the car with you!!!! i.e know your customer circumstance - single female with very small child on board.
It would not have been a problem for my wife to wait for an hour!
And I was considering spending a boatload of cash on a new ML......they can s0d off! I am going to head to another make.
