Here's my query....
Having owned and worked on a few mercs in my time, can anyone shed any light on the parts that are fitted at the Stuttgart factory?
When a car is fitted with parts, for example a fuel, oil or air filter. The originals are made by Bosch right?
Do the units fitted by mercedes the only ones that have a little mercedes logo on them?
I mean, it's not like I care about having a little badge on my filters or anything but it would give me a good idea on how long something has been on the car.
I write this not to be **** but after spending 2 hours under my C200 W202 today trying to get a rusted-in fuel filter off and then cutting it open to see what looked like 14 years worth of **** inside.
It genuinely got me wondering and having bought a MANN filter, I could see the the only difference from the old and new was the little merc badge on the side next to the old Bosch logo.
If I've bored you all here, I'm sorry.
At least it's not an IPhone 5 post!
