I hear about cars which have been made out of all the possible junk parts a person could find. It is like a sacrificed parts cow which barely runs and sucks in a person who feels they want to take it on.

If on the other hand the problem is really just engine related .... its a no brainer.

The hard part is knowing which is which.

Sounds good, at least you'll be able to diagnose the electrical fault and then use it rather than someone else who will probably break up the car for spares

I think your diagnosis is correct, wouldn't let that spread too far though..
