My Neigbour has a builder working on their house and has problems with his car. I just wanted to get some tips on this matter.

I had a gereral look today at it and found the fuel pipes had a bit of air in them.

The car starts fine but was sruggling to reach even 3000 revs.

I opened the fuel filter and its half empty.

I filled it up and started rev ok interminently.

Took it for a test drive and struggles to move.

What could it be.

My guess would be ir maybe sucking in air from somewhere.

Someone even said a faulty fuel pump.

They are slowwwwww at the best of times.

Have you checked the air filter?

The air filter was changed at 2000 miles ago.

After filling the fuel filter with diesel and running the car, I find that its loosing diesel.

Where from?

It's the air in the fuel pipes as it causes the pump to lose pressure and the timing to go out.
The first joint showing air is where the leak is.
Try running is from a can straight to the pump, I bet it's Ok.

Basically you can't see a diesel leak but air gets into the see through pipes after leaving the car for a while.

Dieselman, I think I may well try that direct diesel feed.
