Hi all
Just joined the forum, after looking up on the internet to see whether I could find any problems with the engine ecu which brought me here.
I just have bought myself a Mercedes CLK320 Triptronic on a 2001 plate, which has intermitten fault when the vehicle warms up there is lack of power from time to time which last a few seconds, when pulling away from stationary the vehicle kangaroos, until you put your foot down hard on the throttle. On a few occasions it stooled and the amber engine light comes on the dash board. Apart from that the car appears to be fine, it also appears that the cruise control light comes on the stick but has no control on the engine do you think this may be connected to the above fault anyone got any ideas. I was told by the previous owner that it needs an air flow meter.

When the light is on the CC stalk the limiter is activated not the CC.

I doubt an ECU fault and favour an air mass sensor fault but you really need to get it plugged in to be sure

I would've said Airflow sensor too, but you need to get it on a diagnostic computer to be sure.

Thanks for getting back to my post I've managed to find one on ebay which is identical and states it fits my car would you believe for £25.00 got to be worth a try.

In the meantime I will have to find someone who can maintain the car for me in london / bromley area rather than paying mercedes prices.

DON'T BUY that air mass for £25. I will not work properly!!!!

Bosch only!

Can I suggest you dont throw any parts (money) at your car until you get the codes from the car computer read?

If you are planning to keep the car a while, you might want to invest in a mercedes code reader that is compatible with your car.

P.S.

DO NOT buy an ebay airflow meter. Get a BOSCH one from euro car parts.
