Hi

Is it the 12V or 24V engine, engine designation 603 or ??

The early 12V 603 engine has an emergency manual stop lever, the later 24V 606 engine has a valve on the top of the banjo bolt that holds the main fuel filter on.

Most likely cause of the engine not stopping is a vacuum leak on the pipes leading to the stopper on the top of the pump or the stopper itself.

Wifes early 12V 603 engined car had the stopper fail and it wouldnt turn off, she was able to drive around for a few days lifting the bonnet and pushing the stop lever until i got a new stopper

Hope this helps and welcome to the club

Here's a picture. 12/1 Renew the O ring 43/4 if damaged. Before condemning the unit check its getting an adequate vacuum supply- leaks are likely at unit diaphram or any flexible rubber connector pipes. The other possibility is a failure of the electrical solenoid valve that permits vacuum to reach the actuator when the ignition key is witched off.

Hi

The 12v and 24v i was referring to was 12 valve and 24 valve but as (i see now) yours is a 1996 then it is a 24 valve 606 engine.

The emergency stoppper is a knob on the bango bolt that holds the main filter in place.

OM606 Turbo for boat

Hi I am new and need some help.
I hope this is the correct way of starting a new post
I am fitting a OM 606 962 turbo engine in a boat and I need to know a few things.
1 what car can I get a manual solid flywheel from to fit this engine.
2 I am fitting a OM603 N/A mechanical IP what mods can I do to this pump to get the right amount of fuel to give the same out put as the 606 IP. Can I change the elements from the 606 pump to the 603 pump without having it go to a bosch dealer to be set up.
3 What does the vacuum controlled device on the rear side of the 603 pump do it has black vacuum pipes on. and do I need to keep it.
4 Can I just run a vacuum line from the intake manifold to the turbo.
I will possible need more help but thanks for any input.
Thanks Kevin
