Thursday morning I got up and noticed a message had ben sent to me via Mercedes Me warning me that my starter Battery was critical, on opening the car door the same message on the dash "Charge car or drive for 60 Minutes etc. Car started no problem, so of I went to work! The Stop/Start System went "Green" at the usual time/miles into the journey but it did go "Amber" for about 40 Minutes, then "Green" again.

This morning, (Sunday) Same message from Mercedes Me, timed at 20:44 Saturday Night, :wallbash:

Was I panic stricken? Did I reach for that bottle of single Malt I have been keeping for a special occasion or calamitous event? even though it whispers to me "Drink me, Drink me NOW"

You all must be thinking "Brave Boy" "What a Hero! "How can he stand the Pressure?!

VERY Easy Answer:

I linked the Battery up to my Ctek Charger at around 16:00 on Saturday Afternoon
So where does Mercedes Me get it's information from? :dk::doh::fail:

THE PORK PIE FACTORY!

Does your car have the separate Aux battery?

My C250 has had the same problem for a year now.
Under warranty I've had a battery sensor changed and then the 2nd battery, which I believe is a small lithium battery behind the dash somewhere.
Problem still persists and the only way I've found to stop it is to turn the stop/start off every time I start the car.

I've driven from Glasgow to Plymouth only to be told "starter battery critical" at the end of the journey.
I've driven to Spain & back to be told every day, "starter battery critical", Mercedes do not seem to have a fix?

Interesting, that you DO have a Second Battery, after I was slightly ridiculed for asking if I had one!o_O

I don't see how switching the Stop/Start System off every journey would make any difference?, if the "A" is Amber, it's charging! if the "A" is Green, it's charged! Because I have had the Mercedes Me Messages in the past I bought my Ctek, and if I do short journeys I tend to switch the Stop/Start off as well!

Update:

Got the same message from Mercedes Me Battery very low, I had booked my car into Robinson Peterborough for the Airbag recall next Friday and look at the charging problem, so I called Mobilo, they could either Transport me to Peterborough OR book me in for an emergency at Peterborough if the car was driveable, arrived at around 13:40 plugged into Star, confirmed that the Battery was kaput, (Cells down) new Battery under Warranty and the Airbag check carried, out home by 16:00 :D

Hoping that will end the Messages from Mercedes Me!

Good result well done

Mercedes Me tells me that the parking brake is off even though I know that it is on. Not really sure about MM. Is it technology for it's own sake? I have never laid awake at night wondering how much fuel is in my tank or whether the washer tank is low. The only thing that might be useful is the ability to check and lock/unlock the car remotely, IMO!

Step it up a Notch Keith! :D

You Know the Parking Brake is on even though you applied it subconsciously!

You Know you have enough Fuel in the Tank because you work on when you filled up and know the Consumption Rate, probably to the nth Degree!

You Know you have enough Washer Fluid in the Tank and if it is empty it rains all the time anyway!

You Know you Locked the Car but can check and Lock Remotely if required!

What you DON't KNOW, is those pesky Wiggly AMP thingys have managed to escape while you remain totally unaware, if you start work at 06:00 you DO tend to worry if the Car will start" even worse if it won't start while you are AT work!

Working with computers has taught me never to trust them. I would never trust a computer to tell me the doors were locked if I hadn't pulled the handle myself to test.
