Hi, well ive been a dedicated bmw and volkswagen owner for the last 15 years but always admired and wanted to own a mercedes-benz but never really taken the plunge to do so.........

a few years back i came very close to getting a 124 300d and longed for 124 500e 6 months ago but due to placing my savings into a new buisiness the 500e has been put onto a back burner for now.....

anyway i sold my loveley golf mk2 vr6 about a month ago which id put a hell of alot of time and money into and part of the funds from that were burning a hole in the old pocket so the hunting began.......

primarley it was going to be a pre cdi w210 but as per usual for my self i was very easily distracted from the diesel idea when i came accross a little advert on the autotrader for a W210 E36 AMG...........

the excitement began !!!!!!!!! travelled down from yorkshire to peterborough to view the car (cash in hand) in my mind id bought it before i got there haha !!!! haggled a bit on price and took her away !!!!!!

the car was in a bit of a state due to being parked up since 2010 but all complete with fantastic service history and a fairly low millage of 113,000

its a 1997 P plate genuine E36 W210 AMG in colour code 189M emerald green/black opal but to me dark blue haha ! gets very confusing when ordering a touch up pencil haha !

full grey leather in very good condition with all electrical functions working, all the original body kit, wheels, badges, exhaust system etc retained (big bonus) !!!! but like i said in quite a state........

headlight lenses discolured,
rear tyre needing replacement,
all brakes seized and heavily worped front discs,
broken front O/S foglight,
alarm remote not working,
ASR warning indicator flashing and going into limp mode,
front wings with the usual w210 bubbling etc.....

anyway this didnt detur me as i love a project and enjoy bringing anything of this caliber back to its former glory so the work began...........

and just thought all the above should be going into the members cars section,

hello and looking forward to getting to know the MB community, thanks............

Welcome.

Keep us updated with the work, should be amazing with some TLC.

From me too, welcome. With a name like Blue Stormer I was expecting a Corrado owner.

Photos get us all excited, so don't forget to post a few - VR6 included. Mk2 Golf is one of my alltie avourite cars. :thumb:

Hi,welcome to the forum:thumb:

welcome aboard!
please post some pics.
A small bit of advice... remove the front undertrays and check the subframe.
Sholtz and wax oil the hell out of a 210.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes, very friendly place here !

dont worry i spent around a full day and a very long night haha ! the other week fully cleaning a wire brushing down the whole underside, subframes, suspension, hubs and wheelarches etc etc of the old stormer and waxoiled her from front panel to rear towing hook, horrible messy and quite intoxicating job haha ! but feel so much better driving her now on these to be soon salt riddled u.k roads.......

really appreciate it if anyone can give me instructions onto posting some photo's up as im struggling being antiquated with the old pc .......... thanks

subframes are good by the way too and luckily the previous owner had all the bushes replaced
