Hello from Norway chaps!
Trying to replace a few trim bits and pieces for my 1983 280 SL, and my eyes are bleeding when Im quoted the prices. examples:

merce1.png

Part #113 - 330 pounds each!

Part #110 no longer in production, can be commissioned for 1200 pounds each!
Part #85 POA from classic centre, no doubt similar.
Part #89 100 pounds each.

Part #11 - 500 pounds.

So, what to do? Im in no position to take up a second mortgage to sort out a few interior panels... are there ANY decent aftermarket manufacturers

Cheers,
Axel

The problem is that R107 SL parts supply has recently come under the "MercedesClassic Centre" resulting in a large increase in prices especially trim and body parts....:(

you can get these pieces re-anodised and brought back to as new condition.

This guy will find it if it exists, and as far as I can say he will give the best prices for rare parts. Tell him M from New Zealand recommended you if you like.
Probably one of the best parts guys Mercedes-Benz has to be honest, is very well connected to people Germany and has certainly has looked after me.... :):)

Hi

I had my R107 restored a month or so ago.

I used pattern front wings which were much cheaper but a pain for the body shop to make fit. Turned out ok though.

I used pattern door seals made by URO in the states. Original ones were over a hundred pounds each. I got the complete seal kit (17 parts) including all door seals, soft and hard top and boot seal for £220 pounds delivered from the rockauto in the states.

The SL shop sell the same kit for £400.

Quality not as good as original but acceptable.
