I bought my current W211 without the service history book (it had been lost) but it did have plenty of paperwork to back up its history of servicing at Mercedes so I didn't worry too much. In fact there's a shoebox full of paperwork.
So anyways, I've been in touch with Mercedes about getting the my new (replacement) service history book stamped in line with their records. They said that it has 'only' been in the network once at 12k miles, so I pointed out that I have paperwork documenting up to 70k. The two services after 70k (85k & 100k) were carried out by an independant.
I was then advised to chase up the dealers where it had been serviced which I did. Only problem being that the dealership 'changed hands' a little while ago and now they cant access the service data.
So now I'm in limbo slightly about where to go from here...
I've had the car checked over by my indie and everything is tip-top but I'm probably going to do a big service for piece of mind, then at least I know it's been done; I'll get the air, oil, fuel and pollen filters changed along with the engine & gearbox oils.
